Position : Technician (Diesel Engines)
Reports to : Supervisor / Foreman

Base Location : United Arab Emirates
1.Summary:

Diesel Technician will be responsible for repair, service and troubleshooting of Pumps, Diesel engines and supported/related applications.
2.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for Repair/Services/Maintenance/Defect investigation of Detroit, Volvo, Cummins, Caterpillar Diesel Engines and other heavy pump systems.
Maintain the Pump units/Diesel Engines while on hire on offsite job locations including dry docks, ships, offshore installations, etc.
Attend and rectify on site breakdown incidents.
On time requisition of materials to ensure the timely completion of jobs.
Optimum utilization of spares and materials.
In process inspections, wherever required, are carried out reports generated.
Final inspections/trials etc are carried out as per the procedures and reports are generated according to company Quality Management System.
Workshops and surroundings are maintained in presentable manner at all times.
Ensure all transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide advice to the QHSE Department of any non-conformance issues.
Follow necessary safety regulations, applicable work instructions, operating procedures, method statements, etc. as required in carrying out the jobs. Use proper PPEs, spares, tools, equipments and accessories to the optimum utility.
Careful handling and preservations of customer equipments and accessories. Report all incidents, accidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions and acts to the supervisors/Safety Officer.
Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working.
In addition, shall also support the activities of our other units whenever requested.
3.Competencies:
To be successful the employee should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
Knowledge of various Diesel Engines, Detroit, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo, Pump Systems and related/supported applications.
Knowledge various testing, measuring, calibration, monitoring equipments/instruments and hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, manuals and documents.
Ability to dismantle and assemble diesel engines and troubleshooting.
Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize the activities.
Ability to learn new applications and systems.
Commitment to continuous improvement in quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).
4.Position Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Technical/Diploma with minimum 3 – 6 years exp.
Mathematics: Educational background in Mathematics and Applied Engineering
IT Skills: Computer literate.
Supervisory Requirements: None.
Communication: Good communication skills, able to control conversations and create/input for standard reports.
Adaptability & reasoning: Ability to resolve common problems and concerns of customers in a professional manner.
Certificates: Vocational diploma or equivalent.
Health: Must be in good health and pass UAE Government fitness test, HTML clipboard
