Job Description
Position : Project Engineer
Reports to : Project/Service Manager
Base Location : United Arab Emirates
1 Summary:
Under the supervision of Project/Service Manager, Project Engineer will be responsible for the entire project cycle includes design, development and project execution / completion within the timeframe, cost, quality and safety parameters.
2 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
o Identify customer/project requirements and offer our scope of supply and explore new areas of business development.
o Preparation of scope of work, specification and any other activity related to hydraulics and participate in design review of the project.
o Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through effective customer service, technical assistance & prompt after sales service and manage the appropriate stocking levels (inventory) to ensure that client orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
o Responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, equipment refurbishment of hydraulic and supported application jobs in the workshop and customer job locations.
o Carryout defect investigations, trouble shooting and site surveys to estimate the scope and feasibility of the mechanical jobs.
o Recording of measurements and test results as the jobs are carried out.
o Reading and interpreting drawings, manuals and code specifications.
o Report and document the activities carried out in line with the documentation requirements of the company.
o Ensure that all transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide advice to the QHSE Department of any non-conformance issues.
o Follow necessary safety regulations, applicable work instructions, operating procedure, method statements, etc. as required, in carrying out the jobs. Use proper PPEs, spares, tools, equipments and accessories to the optimum utility
o Careful handling and preservation of customer equipments and accessories. Report all incidents, accidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions and acts to the supervisors/Safety Officer.
o Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working.
o Provide on-the-job training to customers and new & existing department staff members.
o In addition, shall also support the activities of our other units whenever requested.
3 Competencies:
To be successful the employee should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
o Extensive knowledge on project management in Marine, O&G and Drilling environment.
o Sound engineering equipment refurbishment skills with excellent grasp of operational issues.
o Knowledge of a variety of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and software too packages.
o Ability to plan, schedule and prioritize the activities.
o Basic knowledge of Electrical/Electronic control systems.
o Ability to learn and support new applications and systems.
o Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the environment (QHSE).
4 Position qualifications:
Education and Experience: Graduate caliber with minimum 3 years exp supervisory role (s).
Mathematics: Strong educational background in Mathematics and Applied Engineering.
IT Skills: Computer literate with experience of MS-Office applications.
Supervisory Requirements: Superior level skills in man management and interpersonal skills.
Communication: Advanced communication, presentation skills, able to control conversations and create high standard reports.
Adaptability & Reasoning: Ability to resolve common problems and concerns of customers in a professional manner.
Certificates: Engineering Degree/Diploma or equivalent.
Health: Must be in good health and pass UAE Government fitness test.
