Job Description
Position : Pipe Fitter
Reports to :

Base Location: Sharjah
1. Summary:
This position requires ability to lays out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment.
2. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
o Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
o Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
o Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
o Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
o Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blue prints.
o Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
o Select pipe sizes and types and related materials, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
o Cut and bore holes in structures, such as bulkheads, decks, walls, and mains, prior to pipe installation, using hand and power tools.
o Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications and using hand and power tools.
o Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
o Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
3. Competencies:
To be successful the employee should be able to demonstrate the following skills:
o Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
o Ability to selects type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
4.Position Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Vocational Graduate or equivalent
Mathematics: Average computational ability
IT Skills:
Supervisory Requirements: Not required
Communication: Average communication skills
Adaptability & Reasoning: Average logical reasoning and adaptability
Certificates: High School Diploma/Trade Employment/Training Certificates
Health: Physically and mentally fit.
